Iconic and mysterious (with 200 pigeon holes), the Dovecote in Bruton is a fascinating place but few had any idea of what it is and why it’s there. The truth is, nobody, not even the National Trust, is entirely certain of anything much.
Our interpretation of the site drew together illustration, copywriting, design and production. The Dovecote in Bruton is in an exposed and vulnerable spot, the design of the interventions – and the materials used – were chosen for their suitability to this situation. You can now have a great time up there learning about what’s known and wondering about what’s not.
